Welcome employers! The Ogden Weber Applied Technology College enjoys hundreds of partnerships with local businesses. Since the OWATC fills a unique niche in the community as a market-driven institution, the college can quickly respond to training needs of the business community. OWATC is truly one of Weber County’s greatest business-friendly assets.

Check out these great programs:

Custom Fit Training:
This innovative program helps employers be more competitive and increase productivity. Ongoing classes such as forklift certification, marketing and quality management allow businesses to send workers for training as needed. Custom Fit’s real strength is designing individualized courses that are focused on the specific needs of local businesses. Many companies qualify for government funding to help offset the cost.

Employer & Community Education (formerly Accelerated):
OWATC’s Accelerated program offers a variety of continuing education classes for improving job skills, obtaining CEU/CLE credits, or for personal enrichment. These inexpensive courses include in-demand classes such as: Spanish for Conversation, Quickbooks, Excel, Forklift Certification and Phlebotomy. These classes are conveniently offered in the evenings.

Partnerships in Hiring:
OWATC is a great way to find qualified workers. With open entry and exit, new students are completing programs constantly. Our on-site Career Center offers a variety of services to help students search for jobs, write resume, and improve interviewing skills. Click here for the career center. Machinists Program – a Success Story:
When local manufacturers ran into a hiring crunch, OWATC answered the call with an innovative partnership. This consortium teamed JD Machine, Parker Aerospace, GSC Foundries, Haas, and Williams International with the college, Department of Workforce Services, the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce and Weber Economic Development Corporation. The result is a new marketing campaign that helps the community understand what machinists do and offers an innovative "job and a scholarship" package for new students.
